This vlog is directed to CAD, Canadian Association of the Deaf regarding their hiring of Richard Belzile. He is new, unknown. Is he Deaf? Hearing? A lot of unanswered questions. CAD’s decision impacts the whole Deaf community. The position was taken from us by a hearing person, reducing our opportunities. What about the times the Deaf community and Deaf people fought and dealt with challenges: Deaf Ontario Now, the Gallaudet march to demand a Deaf president and now Hollywood is opening opportunities with “CODA”. And now CAD’s decision is a step backwards. We demand more information and a more visible process. CAD needs to redo. Thank you.
